While the Tax Inspection Board (VDK) eliminated tax risks without the need for examination in the meetings it held with 820 physicians and 45 private hospitals within the scope of its surveillance program for the health sector, it detected a total base change of 32.7 billion lira in the three-month impact analysis of the study.

According to the statement made by VDK, the Board’s risk-focused surveillance activities continue to support taxpayers in fulfilling their tax obligations correctly and on time, detect sectoral risks at an early stage and increase voluntary compliance.

In this context, the Health Surveillance Program was implemented in the April-May 2026 period to evaluate the tax risks specific to the health sector.

As a result of the risk analyzes carried out for private hospitals operating in large provinces, especially Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Bursa and Antalya, and physicians affiliated with these hospitals, 820 physicians selected from the determined risk group, businesses associated with these physicians and 45 private hospitals were included in the surveillance program.

MAIN RISK AREAS WERE REMOVED AND 100 PERCENT COMPLIANCE WAS ACHIEVED

Within the scope of the program, direct interviews were held with private hospital managers and physicians, tax risks in the health sector were evaluated and information was provided on correct practices within the framework of the relevant legislation.

As a result of the interviews and guidance activities, all 820 physicians ended the practice of issuing invoices to hospitals through their related companies as of June 1.

The working models of physicians have been made compatible with the insured working status within the scope of the relevant law article, within the framework of the relevant regulations. Thus, 100 percent compliance was achieved by eliminating the main risk areas identified in all taxpayers included in the surveillance program.

In the three-month impact analysis of the study, a total base change of 32.7 billion lira was detected.
