According to the statement made by MKE, MKE participated in the TURNAs-2026 exercise organized by the Ministry of National Defense in Antalya Bay and the Eastern Mediterranean with its local and national defense systems and carried out shooting and attack activities against air and sea threats on the Distinguished Observer Day.
In this context, the 20 millimeter Dual Armed Revolver System of the TOLGA Close Air Defense System was integrated into a warship for the first time and successfully destroyed UAV and IDA targets by firing against air and sea targets from TCG BEYKOZ.
On the other hand, the kamikaze unmanned marine vehicle PİRANA, developed by MKE, attacked a surface target for the second time within the scope of an exercise, controlled by Bayraktar TB2, and hit the target accurately.
TOLGA Close Air Defense System can operate against kamikaze air and surface threats at an effective range of 1000 meters.
The system’s high stabilization ability increases firing effectiveness by maintaining target orientation in maritime missions where the ship is mobile.
PIRANA WAS CONTROLLED THROUGH BAYRAKTAR TB2
PİRANA KİDA, which had previously successfully destroyed the surface target in Exercise DENİZKURDU-I, was controlled via Bayraktar TB2 within the scope of TURNAs-2026 and hit its target with a 100-kilogram warhead.
PİRANA, which can operate remotely or autonomously thanks to RF and SATCOM communication systems, can operate with a swarm concept as well as single use.
The system, which can be deployed and managed from long distances thanks to satellite communication, can be used in different operational scenarios.
