INFLATION EXPECTATIONS ARE IMPORTANT FOR THE MINIMUM WAGE INCREASE
While the increase rate for the minimum wage that will be valid in 2027 has not yet been finalized, the announced economic forecasts have led to calculations regarding possible increase rates. Inflation expectations, one of the most important indicators of the minimum wage increase, are considered as a reference for new period wage increases.
The year-end inflation forecasts included in the Medium Term Program (MTP) and the Inflation Report announced by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) had an impact on the 2027 minimum wage increase expectations.
HOW MUCH IS THE MINIMUM WAGE?
The minimum wage was increased by 27 percent compared to the previous year and was determined as net 28 thousand 75 lira and 50 kuruş. The gross minimum wage was 33 thousand 30 lira.
