Consumer prices in the United States (USA) were within expectations with a monthly increase of 0.4 percent in August. Annual inflation was 3.4 percent, within expectations.
Core CPI increased by 0.3 percent, contrary to expectations of 0.2 percent. Annual core inflation was also within expectations at 2.4 percent.
The fact that inflation was within expectations relieved the markets. While futures indices of the US stock markets accelerated their rise, purchases also increased in global markets.
Dollar Index is on the rise. US 10-year bond yields also declined.
Following the announced figure, the probability of an interest rate increase from the Fed next week is priced at 90 percent.
