BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul gained 0.09 percent in the first half of the day and rose to 14,589.30 points.
BIST 100 index, which moved in an upward trend in the first half of the day, rose to 14,589.30 points as of 13.00, with an increase of 13.79 points and 0.09 percent compared to the previous closing.
The total transaction volume was 71.2 billion lira. The banking index gained 0.84 percent and the holding index gained 0.07 percent.
Among the sector indices, the highest riser was mining with 2.09 percent, and the biggest loser was financial leasing factoring with 9.09 percent.
Global markets are following a mixed course ahead of US Federal Reserve (Fed) President Kevin Warsh’s statements at the Jackson Hole Economic Policy Symposium.
BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul followed a positive trend in the first half of the day, parallel to the positive trend in European stock markets.
Analysts stated that Fed Chairman Warsh’s speech, the consumer confidence index of the University of Michigan in the USA and inflation expectations will be followed for the rest of the day, and noted that technically, 14,700 and 14,800 points in the BIST 100 index are resistance, and 14,500 and 14,400 points are support.
