Google replaced its logo on its homepage with a special doodle due to the 2026 FIFA World Cup final.
In the animated design on the home page of the search engine, the letter “o” in the middle of the Google logo was transformed into a football ball, and a World Cup trophy detail was also used on the logo. When the mouse cursor was hovered over the doodle, the phrase “2026 World Cup: Celebration” was displayed.
The doodle that welcomed users on the final day was the last link of the special World Cup-themed designs prepared by Google throughout the tournament. During the organization, the company used many doodles in different countries about iconic football movements such as volleyball, overhead kick, elastico, step-over and kneeling goal celebration.
Google prepared dozens of different doodles throughout the tournament for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which started on June 11, and made these designs available in more than 180 markets around the world.
