Evaluating the May Sectoral Inflation Expectations survey announced by the Central Bank today, Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek said, “Inflation expectations of households and the real sector improved in May.” he said.
Minister Şimşek stated that they will continue to implement disinflation policies to make the improvement in expectations permanent.
Minister Şimşek’s evaluation is as follows;
“Inflation expectations of households and the real sector improved in May. Although high energy prices and uncertainties put pressure on inflation, the 12-month inflation expectations of households and the real sector decreased by 2.1 points and 0.6 points, respectively, compared to the previous month. We will continue to resolutely implement our policies that support the disinflation process in order to make the improvement in expectations permanent.”
