Apple Sports offers football fans and sports followers live scores, statistics and match information in real time. Designed with Apple’s simple and fast usage approach, the application provides a personalized experience that highlights users’ favorite teams and leagues.
The application will also offer new features especially for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Users will be able to follow the tournament groups, choose their favorite national teams, and instantly see important developments when the matches start.
Users who follow a team will be able to quickly follow match information from the iPhone lock screen or Apple Watch, thanks to the Live Events feature on supported devices. Additionally, the tournament process can be monitored in real time by adding widgets to iPhone, iPad and MacBook home screens.
Oliver Schusser, Apple’s vice president of Music, Sports, Apple TV and Beats, said that the World Cup brings people together around the world and that this is the right time to bring Apple Sports to more users.
New features coming for the World Cup
World Cup-focused features added to Apple Sports include a tournament tree view, formation screens that visually display teams’ starting lineups, and one-touch access to Apple News. But there’s an important note here: Apple News is only available in the US, Canada, the UK and Australia. In other words, even if Apple Sports can be downloaded in Türkiye, the Apple News related news feature may not work in Türkiye.
Apple Sports can be downloaded for free from the App Store. The app was developed for iPhone and can be used on supported iOS versions.
