Venezuelan businessman Alex Saab, an ally of former President Nicolás Maduro, was extradited to the United States on Saturday. This was announced by the Venezuelan immigration authority SAIME. USA allows exemptions for Russian oil to expire

The United States has allowed an exemption to expire that had eased sanctions on Russian oil in recent weeks amid rising energy prices in the Iran war. Just over a month ago, a Treasury Department agency announced that the sale and delivery of Russian oil that had been loaded onto ships by a certain date would be exempt from US bans until Saturday night. By the afternoon (local time), the authority had not published any information about an extension of the measure on its website.

Trump has to pay a fine for stock trading

US President Donald Trump reported stock transactions worth millions too late and has to pay a fine as a result. This is reported by the Washington Post, citing the president’s current financial reports. Accordingly, Trump sold Microsoft and Amazon shares worth between five and $25 million each in February. In March he bought shares in the companies again.

Such transactions must be publicly reported to US presidents within 45 days. Trump missed this deadline and had to pay a $200 fine. He had already been prosecuted for the same violations in March and August. The fee is paid to the US Treasury Department.

Particularly explosive: According to the documents, Trump also bought Nvidia shares shortly before the chip company announced a major partnership with Meta. He also invested in Microsoft and Amazon before the Pentagon announced contracts with both companies. The White House said the investments would be managed by independent financial institutions. Trump and his family have no influence on individual investment decisions.

Trump: Killed key IS leader

US President Donald Trump reported on the Truth Social platform that US and Nigerian special forces killed Abu-Bilal Al-Minuki. He is number two in the Islamic State (IS) terrorist network. “He will no longer terrorize the people of Africa or participate in the planning of attacks against Americans. Eliminating him will significantly weaken ISIS’s global clout,” Trump wrote, thanking the Nigerian government for its cooperation.
