Directing its resources to production with its strong balance sheet structure, widespread service network and digital banking infrastructure, the Bank continues to take its leading position in agricultural finance even further in 2026.
With more than 1,700 branches in the country, 133 service points in 22 countries abroad and more than 25 million active digital banking customers, Ziraat Bank continues to be the most important solution partner of manufacturers with the strong financial support it provides to the agricultural sector.
Strengthened Its Leadership in Agricultural Loans
Making a statement on the subject, Ziraat Bank General Manager Alpaslan Çakar, in his evaluation within the scope of World Farmers’ Day, drew attention to the Bank’s leading role in agricultural financing and used the following statements:
“Our farmers who work hard for the land are the main power of production, employment and economic independence. As Ziraat Bank, we continue to support our farmers, support production and contribute to the sustainable future of agriculture with the responsibility we take from our founding mission.”
Stating that agricultural loans were provided to more than 684 thousand producers throughout 2025, Çakar stated that the balance of agricultural loans reached 831 billion TL by the end of the year. Noting that financing was provided to more than 363 thousand producers in the first quarter of 2026, Çakar said that the total agricultural loan balance approached 1 Trillion TL.
Çakar stated that Ziraat Bank strongly maintains its sector leadership in agricultural loans with its market share reaching 70 percent:
“Approximately 7 lira of every 10 lira loan provided in the agricultural sector is provided by our Bank. This strong picture clearly reveals that Ziraat Bank is the biggest supporter and strongest companion of our producers.” he said.
Strategic Support to Young and Women Farmers
Pointing out that it is of great importance for the young population to be more involved in production in the agricultural sector, Çakar stated that the role of women producers in agricultural development is becoming stronger.
Çakar said, “We see rejuvenation in agriculture and increasing women’s share in production as not only a social responsibility but also a strategic necessity for the production future of our country. We support young people and women to take a stronger place in the agricultural ecosystem for the sustainability of production.”
In this context, Ziraat Bank provided financial support of 172 billion TL to more than 149 thousand young farmers and 54 billion TL to more than 68 thousand women farmers in 2025 alone.
Digitalization and Efficiency Support in Agriculture
Ziraat Bank offers producers not only financing but also technology and data-oriented solutions with its applications that support digital transformation in the agricultural sector.
Çakar said, “Agriculture is no longer just about traditional production processes; it is turning into a new production model shaped by technology, data and financial management. We are developing digital solutions for our farmers to be at the center of this transformation.” he said.
Thanks to the “Ziraat Farmer Platform” mobile application developed in this context, producers; It can track planting areas, monitor plant development processes, analyze weather conditions and plan critical agricultural decisions such as irrigation timing in a data-driven manner.
New Financing Models for Sustainable Agriculture
Ziraat Bank; It continues to increase financial support for contract production, indoor plant production, agricultural mechanization, cold storage investments and production models that will reduce imports.
In addition, special financing solutions are offered to producers in the fields of adaptation to climate change, renewable energy investments, pressurized irrigation systems, organic agriculture, biological control methods and agricultural R&D.
With these supports, the bank aims to increase production capacity and disseminate sustainable and low-carbon production models.
Strong Collaborations in the Agricultural Ecosystem
Ziraat Bank continues to contribute to production through the projects it develops with stakeholders in the agricultural sector.
With projects such as “I Have Many Reasons to Live in My Village”, “Rural Abundance-Livestock Support Project” and KGF-supported agricultural loans, it is aimed to increase the production capacity in rural areas while facilitating producers’ access to finance.
