Google recently made brand new announcements ahead of the I/O events it will hold in a few weeks. We have seen the company introduce its new screen-less wristband, Fitbit Air. In addition, another important announcement was a brand new health application called Google Health.
Google Health comes as an application that will directly replace the Fitbit application. Officially launched after months of testing, Google Health brings together all of Google’s health services under one roof.
Simplicity is prioritized in the new design approach. APPLICATION; Today, it is built on four core tabs: Fitness, Sleep, and Health. While the “Fitness” section suggests weekly exercise plans to the user, the “Today” and “Health” tabs consist of fully customizable panels. In this way, each user can move the metrics they want to see to the top according to their priorities. In addition, the system, which is fully compatible with different platforms such as Health Connect and Apple Health, also collects data from third-party services such as MyFitnessPal or Peloton in a single center.
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE SUPPORTED HEALTH COACH
One of the most striking features of Google Health is its artificial intelligence-supported coaching system based on the Gemini model. This digital assistant analyzes the user’s data and prepares personalized sleep insights and fitness plans. Data entry is now much more practical; Information can be recorded using voice commands, texts and even photos of food or sports equipment.
Thanks to the artificial intelligence-supported feature called Google Health Coach, you will be able to chat with the Gemini-supported health coach and get help from him. It will be possible to use the application in 2 ways: basic and paid Premium. Many additional features will be offered in Premium, such as Google Health Coach, adaptive fitness plans, detailed sleep data. It should also be noted that Premium is part of Google AI Pro or AI Ultra in many countries.
You don’t need to download a new app for this big change. Starting from May 19, Fitbit users will find themselves in this new universe with an automatic update. Google Fit users will be informed with a special tool to transfer their data to this new system later in the year.
The name of the application will change with the update that will be published on both the App Store and Google Play as of May 19.
