At the Huawei ICT Day 2026 event held in Istanbul, Huawei; discussed the future of industrial digital transformation with artificial intelligence, cloud, 5G and IoT solutions. At the event, Türkiye’s role in the digital transformation process and the effects of new technologies on the business world were discussed.
Huawei Enterprise Türkiye CTO Fatih Akgül stated in his evaluation to Şifa Kaymak that Türkiye is not only a market but also a strategic technology partner for Huawei.
“ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IS AT THE CENTER OF TRANSFORMATION”
Expressing that digital transformation has now entered a new phase, Akgül emphasized that artificial intelligence is the most critical element of this process.
“After the maturation of digital transformation, we have now entered the period of activation with artificial intelligence. In this process, institutions need to redefine their strategies and employees need to gain new competencies,” he said.
Stating that Huawei’s goal is to accelerate the transformation together with its business partners by bringing the advanced technology experience in China to Türkiye, Akgül said that they focused on the provision of basic technologies in this context.
5G AND THE DATA ERA
Akgül also touched upon Türkiye’s 5G journey and stated that Huawei is cooperating with Turkcell, Türk Telekom and Vodafone in this process.
Stating that 5G means a great transformation not only for individual users but especially for corporate companies, Akgül said, “With 5G, much more data will be produced and the management of this data will become critical.”
CLOUD INVESTMENTS GAINED SPEED
Stating that Huawei has accelerated its cloud computing investments in Türkiye, Akgül said that the company was one of the first major cloud providers to establish a data center in Türkiye two years ago.
Expressing that they have created an ecosystem that grows every year, Akgül emphasized that cloud and artificial intelligence have now become mandatory for all sectors.
TRANSFORMATION FROM EDUCATION TO FINANCE
Stating that artificial intelligence-supported solutions will be used in many areas from education to finance, Akgül stated that applications such as smart classroom systems, data analytics and automation of business processes will become widespread.
DATA SECURITY IS AT THE FOREGOING
Stating that data security is one of the most critical topics of digital transformation, Akgül pointed out that cyber attacks also increase with increasing data traffic.
“Ransomware attacks are increasing exponentially every year. Therefore, data security is now among the strategic priorities of companies and countries,” he said.
