The number of real estate sold across Türkiye decreased by 9.5 percent in the first quarter of the year compared to the same period of 2025, falling to 628 thousand 255.
According to the information compiled from the data of the General Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre (TKGM), all real estate sales such as housing, land, field, workplace and commercial real estate, which started 2025 quickly, broke a record by exceeding 3.3 million with an increase of 8.7 percent on an annual basis.
Real estate sales across the country, which started this year with a decline, were 204 thousand 884 in January, 222 thousand 842 in February and 200 thousand 529 in March. The highest sales volume was seen in February.
Real estate sales decreased by 9.5 percent in the first quarter compared to the same period last year, falling to 628 thousand 255. Sales numbers in the same period were 694 thousand 628 last year, 641 thousand 304 in 2024, 683 thousand 399 in 2023, 670 thousand 320 in 2022, and 593 thousand 272 in 2021. Thus, the lowest figure in the last 5 years was seen.
168.1 BILLION LIRA REVENUE WAS OBTAINED FROM DEED TRANSACTIONS
During the said period, a total of 4 million 812 thousand 931 transactions were carried out in land registry offices. More than 628 thousand of these were sales, nearly 326 thousand were mortgages, approximately 99 thousand were transfers, 41.7 thousand were corrections, 21.7 thousand were expropriation, 14 thousand were separation, 9.4 thousand were donations, 7.8 thousand were merged, and 5.7 thousand were partition transactions. Other transactions exceeded 3.6 million.
During this period, the fee income obtained from transactions carried out in the land registry increased by 73.6 percent and reached 51 billion 800 million 584 thousand liras. 49 billion lira of this came from sales transactions.
