Iran’s President Peseschkian apologizes for attacks on neighboring countries – and makes their discontinuation conditional.
Iranian President Massoud Peseschkian sets conditions for an end to air strikes on neighboring countries. In a video message broadcast by the state broadcasting agency, he said Iran would not fire missiles and attack neighboring countries as long as there were no attacks on Iran from their territory. He called any form of support for Israel and the United States “disgraceful.”
At the same time, he apologized for the attacks on neighboring countries. “These incidents were a result of the chaotic situation following the deaths of several senior commanders, when the armed forces were leaderless and had to act independently,” he said.
Peseschkian’s statement means that no attacks on Iran may be carried out from US military bases in the region. Since such bases are stationed in several neighboring countries, the condition would in fact also affect the USA.
