BIST 100 index, which moved in a downward trend in the first half of the day, fell to 12,985.09 points as of 13:00, a decrease of 93.85 points and 0.72 percent compared to the previous closing.
The total transaction volume was 60.8 billion lira. The banking index lost 2.17 percent and the holding index lost 1.96 percent.
In the sector indices, the highest increase was chemistry, petroleum plastics with 3.27 percent, and the highest decrease was transportation with 2.20 percent.
While global markets follow a mixed course as the closure of the Strait of Hormuz increases risks and costs for energy supply, the non-agricultural employment data to be announced in the USA today is expected to have an impact on the direction of the markets.
Analysts stated that the news flow regarding the ongoing developments in the Middle East and employment data, especially non-agricultural employment data in the USA, will be followed for the rest of the day, and stated that technically, 12,900 and 12,800 points in the BIST 100 index are in a support position, and 13,100 and 13,200 points are in a resistance position.
