Russia continues to exert massive military pressure ahead of Ukrainian President Zelensky’s meeting with US President Trump. In Kyiv, Mayor Klitschko reports injuries and damage.

According to Mayor Vitali Klitschko, serious fires broke out in two high-rise buildings in the Ukrainian capital Kiev after Russian air strikes. Klitschko also reported on his Telegram channel that 19 people were injured after the attacks with drones and missiles. The number continued to increase throughout the morning. According to authorities, several residential buildings also caught fire. In the capital, the heating failed in thousands of households. There were also power outages. There were air alerts across the country.

“There are currently more than 2,600 residential buildings, 187 kindergartens, 138 schools and 22 social institutions in the capital without a central heat supply,” said Klitschko. “Energy suppliers and municipal companies are working to restore energy and heat supplies.”

With these attacks, Russia is exerting military pressure ahead of the planned meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his US counterpart Donald Trump in Florida on Sunday. Zelenskyj, on the other hand, is likely to once again clarify the red lines for Kiev in the negotiations with Trump. He rejects surrender with a dictated peace on Moscow’s terms.

The commander of the Russian Volunteer Corps RDK, Denis Kapustin, who was fighting against Moscow’s troops, was killed in a drone attack in the part of the Ukrainian Zaporizhzhia region controlled by Kiev. The RDK, which is fighting on the side of Ukraine against the Russian war of aggression, announced this on Telegram.

The unit, consisting of Russian fighters, announced retaliation for the death of “Whitrex”, Kapustin’s nickname. In the past, the RDK had also advanced into Russian territory with fighters and heavy military technology during the war and had temporarily controlled towns there.

Ukraine has been defending itself against the Russian war of aggression for almost four years.
