The Ministry of Commerce imposed a fine of 96.6 million TL on more than 180 companies dealing in vegetable and fruit trade.
The statement made by the Ministry is as follows:
“As it is known, regarding the recent price increases, especially in vegetable and fruit products, at the meeting of the Unfair Price Evaluation Board held on April 3, 2026, a total administrative fine of 96.6 Million TL was imposed on chain markets and 183 businesses engaged in wholesale trade of vegetables and fruits, which were found to have made exorbitant price increases.
At the Board’s meeting held on April 7, 2026, it was decided to impose a total administrative fine of 42.3 Million TL on markets that were found to have made exorbitant price increases and 60 businesses engaged in wholesale trade of vegetables and fruits. All stages of the supply chain, from production points to suppliers, from suppliers to retailers, including vegetable and fruit producers, are closely monitored by our Ministry, and our fight against unfair price increases will continue with determination.
