Domestic breeding works for the cloves imported from Israel, Netherlands, Italy and Spain, the rootstock and seedlings of cut flower manufacturers in Türkiye, started in 2012 in cooperation with BATEM and cut flower manufacturers. After the success of the first domestic breeding work, the first domestic breeding study, which has been collected by foreign scientists in the Anatolian mountains since the 1800s, has been taken to Europe and Israel since the 1800s, the first domestic breeding study was started.

40 million dollars of exports
Stating that the center of cut flower production and exports in Türkiye is Antalya, Çandır said, “As Antalya, we have exports of approximately 40 million dollars. We are in pursuit of producing different flowers both to the domestic market and abroad with new varieties, “he said.
Domestic cloves were also produced in pots
On the other hand, in the domestic carnation studies of BATEM, two domestic species production was completed as cloves in the pots used in landscape works, except for cut flower types. Ayşe Kaya, who gave information about the two species called Aura and Nezahat, said, “Nezahat Gökyiğit started with a project with TAGEM-ARGE supported in the fields of both institutions in partnership with the Botanic Garden. We have entered the development part of the two of the 18 candidates in December 2024.
