In his written statement, Uraloğlu provided information about the passenger and aircraft traffic at Çukurova International Airport, which was opened on Saturday with a ceremony attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Uraloğlu, who recalled that the first landing and take-off at the airport was made with the Turkish Airlines flight number “TK2462” named “Gölbaşı”, said, “Our plane that took off from Istanbul on August 11 landed at Çukurova Airport at 11.45. The same plane was the first plane to take off from here to go to Istanbul at 13.00.”

Uraloğlu also noted the following regarding the passenger and aircraft traffic at Çukurova International Airport in 24 hours:

“As of 11.30 on August 12, there was a total of 74 aircraft traffic at our airport, 48 on domestic and 26 on international lines. The number of passengers we serve has reached a total of 11,108, 7,486 on domestic and 3,622 on international lines.”

“We will continue to raise the bar in aviation”

Emphasizing that the fact that more than 10 thousand passengers use the airport in one day shows how strong the region’s capacity is to meet the needs in air transportation, Uraloğlu stated the following:

“This density of passengers clearly shows what a great opportunity our airport offers not only for Adana and Mersin, but for the entire region. Çukurova International Airport will continue to prove itself in providing quality and safe service to every passenger arriving and departing from the region. Seeing such high passenger traffic right after the opening is a strong indicator of interest and trust in the project. We will continue to raise the bar in regional aviation with our Çukurova International Airport.”

The statement also included the opinions of passengers who were experiencing the airport for the first time. Passengers stated that the airport was large, clean and comfortable, and emphasized that the large and spacious facility was not tiring.
