Minister Göktaş said that the elderly population rate has increased to 11.1 percent and that they continue to work to increase the number of services offered to the elderly in Türkiye and diversify them according to their needs.
In this context, Göktaş stated that the Ministry continues its policy of supporting family-based, active and healthy aging through YADES and said, “In the provision of services for our elderly, in addition to institutional care, we are also expanding protective-preventive alternative service models such as home care and day care. We are also carrying out projects to develop day care and home care support services, which are the primary preferences of our elderly and their relatives.”
WE REACHED 144 OLD CITIZENS WITH 123 PROJECTS
Göktaş emphasized that they have made the lives of citizens over the age of 65 easier with YADES, which has been implemented since 2016, and stated that within the scope of the project, our elderly who need care and psychosocial support can access the necessary services without leaving their own living spaces. Göktaş said:
“The total financial support we have provided within the scope of YADES in the last 10 years has reached 105.6 million liras. During this process, we reached 164 thousand 144 elderly citizens in 108 thousand 851 households with 123 projects carried out in 86 different municipalities. Applications for YADES 2026, in which new projects to be prepared by municipalities in order to protect, support and facilitate the lives of our elderly, will be evaluated. This year, 50 million liras for YADES projects “We allocated funds.”
DEADLINE FOR PROJECTS IS JUNE 26
Municipalities; Stating that the Ministry can apply to the governorships with the project drafts by filling out the “YADES Project Application Form” on the website of the General Directorate of Disabled and Elderly Services, Göktaş stated that the approved projects will be implemented by the municipalities and the inspections will be carried out through the governorships.
Göktaş stated that municipalities that will apply for the program must submit their project proposals to the governorships by June 26.
