Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that a historical threshold was left behind when President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan launched the 5G era yesterday and said, “With 5G, which we gradually put into service in 81 provinces, approximately 21 million subscribers met with this technology.” he said.
In his written statement, Uraloğlu gave information about the transition process of subscribers to 5G.
Pointing out that a historical threshold was left behind when President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan officially launched the 5G era yesterday, Uraloğlu said, “There are more than 32 million 5G compatible devices in Türkiye. With 5G, which we gradually put into service in 81 provinces, approximately 21 million subscribers met with this technology.” made his assessment.
Uraloğlu pointed out that communication and informatics are among the most strategic areas of today.
Stating that 5G is not just a technology, but the name of an era that will transform Türkiye’s economy, industry, health, transportation and agriculture, Uraloğlu continued as follows:
“5G will move Türkiye to the center of digital transformation with its ultra-low latency and intense device connection capacity compared to 4.5G. Road safety will increase and traffic will be managed more efficiently with fully autonomous driving and smart road applications in transportation. In industry, production processes will be optimized with smart factories, autonomous robots and instant data analysis. Innovative solutions will come to life in every field from energy management to parking systems in smart cities.”
5G SERVICES WILL BE AVAILABLE IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY WITHIN TWO YEARS
Uraloğlu reminded that they earned an income of 3 billion 534 million dollars as a result of the 5G authorization tender held on October 16, 2025, with the competition of three operators.
Stating that in the 5G authorization tender, operators are increasingly obliged to use domestically certified products at rates of up to 60 percent and national communication products at rates of up to 30 percent, Uraloğlu said, “We will offer 5G services to our citizens in every point of our country within two years.” he said.
