Togg ranked first in the Turkish electric car market with 17 thousand 49 sales and 29 percent market share in the 9-month period of the year. .
According to the information compiled by the AA correspondent from the Automotive Distributors and Mobility Association (ODMD) data, Turkey’s total sales of automobiles and light commercial vehicles decreased by 0.9 percent in the January-September period compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 849 thousand 892.
While automobile sales increased by 1.3 percent to 675 thousand 273 in the said period, light commercial vehicle sales decreased by 8.4 percent to 174 thousand 619.
In the January-September period, the number of “full electric” car sales increased by 56 percent to 60 thousand 838. The share of fully electric cars in total sales increased from 5.9 percent to 9 percent compared to the same period last year, and the share of hybrid cars increased from 10.8 percent to 16.3 percent.
When “full electric”, “extended range electric” and “hybrid” vehicles were considered, it was seen that 25.3 percent of the total market consisted of vehicles with electric engines.
T10X MADE A 10 THOUSAND DIFFERENCE OVER ITS CLOSEST COMPETITOR
According to ODMD data, Togg maintained its electric car market leadership for 9 months of the year.
With sales of 17 thousand 49 units in the 9-month period of the year, Togg outperformed its closest rival by 10 thousand 22 units. During this period, Togg’s electric car market share was recorded as 29 percent. Thus, approximately one in every 3 electric cars sold featured the Togg logo.
BEST SELLING ELECTRIC BRANDS
When we look at the electric car market on a brand basis, in the January-September period, Tesla was ranked after Togg in sales with 7 thousand 27 units and BMW with 5 thousand 651 units.
KG Mobility (Ssangyong) was ranked fourth with 3 thousand 557 units and Mercedes-Benz was ranked fifth with 3 thousand 475 units.
When considered on a model basis, the sales order in the said period was Togg T10X, Tesla Model Y, KG Mobility Torres, BMW X1 and Mercedes EQB.
SEPTEMBER SALES
On the other hand, looking at September, in the fully electric car market of 9 thousand 548 units, Tesla ranked first with 2 thousand 475 sales, Togg ranked second with 2 thousand 200 sales and Mini ranked third with 551 sales.
While BMW ranked fourth with 513 sales, Mercedes-Benz ranked fifth with 463 sales.
