Turkish Pensioners Association (TÜED) Mamak Branch President Murat Tokgöz, in his written statement, stated that the 100th anniversary of the Republic was celebrated with enthusiasm throughout the country last year and reminded that 5 thousand liras were paid to retirees within the scope of the 100th anniversary.
Pointing out that the payment helped meet the needs of many retirees, Tokgöz said:
“Thanks to the 5 thousand lira payment made on Republic Day last year, many retirees entered the winter with an additional amount of money in hand.
“We demand that the bonus given to our retirees on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of our Republic be named ‘Republic Day Bonus’ and be given in the amount of one salary every year.
“This application will greatly please millions of our retirees and contribute to their celebrating Republic Day with more enthusiasm.”
