Donald Trump will take part in the funeral of Pope Francis. The White House sees a conspiracy against Pete Hegseth. All developments here.

The gold price at the international financial markets has increased to a record high because of the erratic US economic policy of US President Donald Trump. On Tuesday morning, a troy ounce (about 31.1 grams) cost 3,500 US dollars for the first time in the history (equivalent to around 3,000 euros). That is an increase of more than two percent compared to the previous evening. The gold price had increased almost three percent on Monday. Read more about it here.

Pete Hegseth was controversial before his appointment as Minister of Defense. According to new research to pass on secret information, the criticism of him becomes louder. Read more about it here.

Former US Vice President Al Gore compared the Trump government with Nazi Germany in a longer speech on the opening of the “San Franciscos Climate Week”. This reports, among other things, the news portal “Politico”. Especially when dealing with the government with reality and facts, he feels reminded of the NSDAP. Gore said: “The Trump administration is trying to create its own preferred version of reality.” Read more about it here.

In the United States, more than 100 universities, colleges and science organizations have signed a joint statement against the dealings of US President Donald Trump with the country’s academic institutions. There are institutes such as the Elite University Princeton or the Connecticut State Community College. They accuse Trump’s government “unprecedented attacks and political interference” that endanger the American university.

The US Presidential Office initially did not respond to a request for comment. Previously, the “New York Times” had reported that the University of Harvard Trump’s government is suing the deletion of means of billions. The renowned university opposes the course change required by Trump, for example when admission of students.

The US defense minister Peter Hegseth, which has become criticized, accuses his former familiar and narrow employees to act against him. “What a big surprise: a few leaks are fired and there is already a bunch of negative headlines,” said the former Fox news presenter at an Easter celebration in the White House.

The White House sees a conspiracy against Hegseth in the Ministry of Defense. “This happens when the entire Pentagon works against one and works against the monumental change that you want to implement,” explains the spokeswoman for the White House, Karoline Leavitt. Hegseth has released high -ranking generals and admirals to implement President Donald Trump’s national security agenda and to prevent initiatives to promote diversity and equality, which he describes as discriminatory. US President Donald Trump has so far been firmly with his Defense Minister.

“He was used to get rid of a lot of bad people. And that’s exactly what he did,” said Trump in front of reporters on Monday.
