Long visa procedures are a problem for hundreds of Turkish companies in Germany. There is good news for them during the NRW Prime Minister’s visit to Türkiye.

Visa relief for Turkish business people entering Germany will be expanded. North Rhine-Westphalia’s Prime Minister announced this Hendrik Wust and the Minister of State in the Foreign Office, Serap Güler, at an economic conference in Istanbul to.

Since August 2025, there has been a special procedure for particularly trustworthy Turkish companies with a particular connection to Germany, which so far applies to around 400 companies. The circle should now be expanded. In particular, member companies of the Turkish foreign trade association DEIK with a connection to Germany should be included.

“This is a strong and, above all, concrete signal for North Rhine-Westphalia as a business location,” said Wüst. Long and complex visa procedures have slowed down cooperation between companies for years. “The fact that more Turkish companies will be able to plan their business activities in Germany more reliably in the future will create the basis for new investments and closer partnerships,” said Wüst. There are around 1,300 Turkish companies based in North Rhine-Westphalia – more than in any other federal state.
