After the talks on the controversial US peace plan, Washington and Kiev expressed confidence. We are talking about a new version that was developed together.

According to information from Kiev and Washington, a revised and improved peace plan was drawn up during consultations between Ukraine and the USA. Both sides agreed to continue intensive work on the joint proposal “in the coming days” and to continue to coordinate closely with their European partners, according to a joint statement on the talks in Geneva.

Final decisions on the new plan to end Russia’s war of aggression will be made by US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky, the statement said.

The discussions in Geneva were “concentrated, focused and respectful” and showed “significant progress” towards common positions and determining next steps. “Both sides agree that the discussions were highly productive,” the joint statement said.

The interlocutors reiterated that any future agreement must fully respect Ukraine’s sovereignty and ensure a sustainable and just peace. “As a result of these discussions, an updated and refined peace plan was created by those involved.”

Ukraine expressed its gratitude for the US support, it said. Both sides wanted to continue working together to achieve a peace that ensures “the security, stability and reconstruction of Ukraine.”
