USA attacks targets in Iran – Tehran reacts

American forces have carried out attacks on targets in Iran. The Revolutionary Guards report counterattacks.

The US military says it has carried out attacks against the US despite an agreed ceasefire Iran executed. The reaction to the renewed US military strike will be “quick and decisive,” Iranian television reported, citing the Revolutionary Guards.

According to their own statements, the Iranian Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) also struck back in response to the US attacks. US Vice President JD Vance sent a clear warning to the government in Tehran. “Violence is met with violence,” Vance said on Platform X. If Iran has disagreements over the implementation of the memorandum of understanding, the regime can pick up the phone, Vance continued.

“The unwarranted aggression by Iranian forces against civilian commercial shipping constitutes a clear violation of the ceasefire. Furthermore, Iran’s dangerous behavior undermines freedom of navigation as ever-increasing flows of commerce pass through this important international trade corridor,” the US command wrote.

Initial unconfirmed reports from social media said the US attacks targeted positions in the port city of Sirik in Hormozgan province, which lies on the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian media reported that a projectile hit Sirik.

Senior Iranian politician Ebrahim Azizi wrote shortly before the US attacks on X that the reality in the Persian Gulf had changed. “The Strait of Hormuz is controlled by Iran. Therefore: respect the rules, use safe routes and do not confuse control with escalation. Anyone who does not learn the rules will be taught by the Iranian armed forces. This is not a violation of the ceasefire, but rather its enforcement.”
