How NATO wants to repel an attack in an emergency

NATO Commander-in-Chief Alexus Grynkewich has presented a new concept to ward off a possible Russian attack on member states of the alliance. “I do not assume that a conflict is imminent or inevitable. That is not the case,” Grynkewich said at the security forum in Warsaw. However, operational readiness requires that you plan for what is possible and not just for what is likely. His ideas, known as the “Theory of Victory”, envisage defeating a potential attacker militarily in three steps. Read more here.

Zelensky: US must enforce limited ceasefire

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj has the USA called on Russia to comply with the limited energy ceasefire announced by US President Donald Trump. “We are waiting to see what concrete steps the Americans are willing to take,” Zelensky said in a video broadcast speech at the Warsaw Security Forum.

The day before, Zelensky said they were very surprised by Trump’s announcement on social media that all attacks on energy facilities in the Ukraine war would be stopped immediately. “And immediately after the post was published, Russia carried out a targeted attack on a power plant in Kharkiv, causing further damage to our energy system.” Kremlin boss Vladimir Putin apparently doesn’t read Trump’s posts on his network Truth Socialhe added.

Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine would agree to a stop to attacks on energy facilities if Russia also respected this. For this reason, attacks against Russian oil refineries were refrained from last night. Nevertheless, there have been attacks from Russian jet-powered drones all morning Kyiv given. “So this is Putin’s answer to Trump for now: Russian attacks. But we’ll wait and see.”

After drone attacks: Yandex bot traffic plummets

After Ukrainian drone attacks on several data centers of the Russian technology group Yandex, automated data traffic from its network temporarily collapsed almost completely. This is shown by measurements from the US internet service provider Cloudflare. As the specialist portal “Tom’s Hardware” reports, the number of automated HTTP requests temporarily fell to around 0.4 percent of the highest value in the previous two weeks.

The decline began after the attack on the Yandex data center in Sazovo on October 8th. Subsequently, facilities in Kaluga and Vladimir were also hit. The attacks led to significant disruptions to the group’s cloud services.

However, the data does not indicate that Russian propaganda bots are down. Automated access from search engines that search and index websites is also recorded. The measurements do not reveal exactly which services are affected. Read here what consequences the attacks could have for Russia in the long term.
