Türkiye’s Ural Crude Oil imports from Russia, with seasonal demand for fuel products such as powerful refinery margins and diesel, is preparing to reach the highest level of the last year in June.

According to LSEG data, the Ural -type crude oil volume, which Türkiye imported from Russia by sea, will reach approximately 1.64 million tons in May and will see the highest level since May 2024. In the same month of last year, imports were 1.76 million tons.

Türkiye is the second largest importer of the Ural -type crude oil, which was carried by sea after India. Türkiye, which does not participate in the sanctions of the West against Russia, adapts to international laws and restrictions.

According to Reuters data, Ural oil prices were traded below $ 60 per barrel in Russian ports in April and May, while the ceiling of G7 countries with the recent rise in Brent oil increased. According to trade resources, this price increase can put pressure on Türkiye’s Russian oil purchases.

TÜPRAŞ resumed the purchases of Russian oil he stopped due to US sanctions in February in April.

G7 does not allow Western companies to provide insurance or transportation services for Russian oil sold over $ 60 per barrel in accordance with the ceiling price application agreed.
