After the arrest of Ekrem Imamoğlu, a wave of protests goes through the country. The Turkish judiciary strikes hard.

The largest opposition party in Türkiye, CHP, condemned the mayor of Istanbul, Ekrem Imamoğlu, as “attempted coup against the next president”. Despite a four -day ban on assembly after the arrest, thousands of people in various cities such as Istanbul and the capital Ankara went onto the street and scandaled anti -government slogans.

For example, the users are accused of “impacting the public for hatred and hostility” and “incorporation to inspect a crime”. In total, more than 18 million contributions on X have been published on the topic by the morning, according to the Interior Minister.

In the meantime, social media were still only available to a limited extent. The cyberrecht activist Yaman Akdeniz, known in Turkey, wrote on X in the morning, the bandwid throttling of the platforms. Since Wednesday, users and media have reported only partially and barely accessible portals.
