Türkiye-based game companies have achieved a rapid rise in the global mobile market. While Turkish developers’ worldwide in-game purchase revenue was 504 million dollars in 2020, it has exceeded 2.76 billion dollars today. Growing approximately 450 percent in five years, the sector’s share in the global mobile game market increased from 1 percent to 5 percent, and its growth rate surpassed the world average. While the global mobile game market grew by approximately 3 percent in 2025, the revenue increase of Turkish developers reached 25.5 percent. On the other hand, the annual average growth in the 2020-2025 period was calculated as approximately 42 percent.
1.7 BILLION DOLLARS ALONE
At the center of the table is Istanbul-based Dream Games. Growing in the global market with Royal Match and Royal Kingdom, the company generated approximately $1.7 billion in in-game purchase revenue in 2025 alone. This figure corresponds to approximately 62 percent of Turkish developers’ total revenue of $2.76 billion. The total in-game purchase revenue of Dream Games’ two games since their launch has exceeded 5.2 billion dollars. Dream Games was followed by Peak Games with $619.7 million and Rollic Games with $207 million in 2025. The total revenue of the top three companies reached approximately $2.53 billion. In other words, more than 90 percent of the global revenue of Turkish mobile game companies came from these three major players. The total share of Dream Games and Peak Games exceeded 80 percent.
REVENUES FROM PUZZLE
Another noteworthy title in the revenue structure of the Turkish gaming industry is genre distribution. 96.9 percent of Turkish developers’ global revenues came from puzzle games. The share of strategy games remained at only 0.9 percent, and the share of the shooter genre remained at 0.4 percent. Royal Match ranked first among the games produced by Turkish developers, with a revenue of approximately 1.4 billion dollars in 2025. Royal Match also reached 82.4 million downloads in 2025. Rollic Games, on the other hand, stood out among Turkish companies in terms of downloads by reaching 172.2 million downloads with its wide portfolio of different games. While games from Turkish developers were downloaded approximately 2 billion times worldwide, the increase in revenue was well above the increase in downloads.
347 MILLION DOLLARS EXPENDITURE
The spending of users in Türkiye on mobile games increased by 6 percent in 2025, reaching 347 million dollars and reaching a historical peak. In contrast, Turkish developers earned $2.76 billion in revenue, approximately eight times that from the rest of the world. The number of mobile game downloads in Türkiye decreased by 4 percent in 2025, falling to approximately 1.8 billion. Despite this, revenue continued to rise. The highest-earning mobile game of the year in Türkiye was PUBG Mobile with 17.3 million dollars, while eFootball generated 10.4 million dollars and Whiteout Survival generated approximately 10 million dollars.
BILLIONS OF DOLLARS INVESTMENT
The rise was not limited to game sales alone. The number of active game developers in Türkiye increased by 18.6 percent in 2025. While it is stated that the number of active developers has grown more than three times since 2020, the total size of investments in Turkish game companies since 2009 has reached approximately 3.6 billion dollars. One of the biggest transactions in this field took place on the Dream Games front. The company signed one of the largest transactions in the Turkish technology ecosystem with an investment/financing round of approximately 2.5 billion dollars in 2025.
