In the program, medals and plaques were presented to the students who were ranked at the National and International Science Olympics in 2024.
Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology Muhammet Kasım Volunteer, at the ceremony, the importance of the Science Olympics drew attention.
In addition to 225 students who won medals in the national science olympics in Antalya, they are happy to be together with 54 young people who successfully represent Turkey in international and regional Olympics.
“We contribute to the scientific development of our young people with our Science Olympics, we allow them to step into the world of science and technology. We won 17 gold, 31 silver 25 bronze medals in the international arena in 2024. I would like to express pride in the number of gold medals we have achieved since 1978 We believe that this success will continue to increase in international platforms. “
Volunteer, young people who will guide young people in the journey of Science Olympics this year, developed innovative education model, said that they also gave training to 172 teachers.
Recalling that they have added the geography branch to the Science Olympics since last year, Volunteer said that they have expanded the possibility of being represented in the international geography olympics and that they have given the first awards in this field today.
Volunteer, astronomy, astrophysics, computer, biology, physics, chemistry, mathematics and geography branches who want to work, on May 17 in Turkey and the TRNC will be held for the first stage exam, he added.

Stage of Science Olympics
The yearly Science Olympics Event, organized by TÜBİTAK every year, started with the first stage exam held in 81 provincial centers and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus on 18 May 2024. As a result of the examination of 14 thousand 188 students, 515 students were entitled to participate in the second stage and received training at the Summer School held at TÜBİTAK Gebze Campus.
After the second stage exam held in Ankara on 14-20 December 2024, 225 students, including 35 gold, 77 silver and 113 bronze medals, were entitled to receive medals.
A total of 247 students, including 22 students who were eligible for the Olympic committees, were prepared for international and regional olympics within the scope of the Winter School held in Antalya between 25 January and 8 February 2025. At the 32nd award ceremony this year, the students who achieved success in the Science Olympics received their awards.
