That would be entirely important to Russia and the Europeans. At the moment, Russia does not have the military strength to conquer Ukraine and then plan the attack on the next country. However, European secret services assume that Russia could be able to attack a NATO member country before the decade. The Baltic countries and Poland are particularly at risk.
Whether and when Russia attacks a European NATO country depends on how quickly Europeans can compensate for the skills of the United States. As the strongest member of the alliance, the US Army plays a central role in logistics, military enlightenment, man’s strength, weapon production and, last but not least, nuclear deterrence. If the European countries in these areas follow quickly, they may be able to deter Russia from an attack without the help of the United States.
