The US federal authorities have expanded their raids against illegal immigrants to the southern US. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said there were operations in the banking metropolis of Charlotte in North Carolina on Saturday. “We are deploying increased DHS response forces to Charlotte to keep Americans safe and eliminate threats to public safety,” said DHS spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin. “There were too many victims of criminal illegal aliens.” The ministry did not initially provide any details about the operation, such as the number of officers involved or those arrested.

In recent months, US President Donald Trump has bought numerous bonds from companies that benefit from his policies. From late August to early October, his investments in corporate and municipal bonds totaled at least $82 million, according to financial documents released by the U.S. Government Ethics Office on Saturday. The maximum total value of the bond purchases exceeded $337 million, according to the filing.
