The American president apparently knew nothing about a planned attack by Israel on an Iranian gas field. Now he speaks out and threatens.
US President Donald Trump was apparently not informed by Israel about an attack on an Iranian gas field. The Iranian military had retaliated and hit parts of the field located in Qatar. “Israel, angered by events in the Middle East, has carried out violent attacks on an important facility in Iran, the so-called South Pars gas field,” Trump wrote on the Truth Social platform.
Then he added: “There will be no more attacks from Israel.” The important and valuable gas field should be protected as long as Iran does not continue to attack Qatar. If that happens, he threatened an attack “with a strength and power the likes of which Iran has never seen before.”

The USA wants to ensure that the Iranian population’s energy supply is largely maintained. There is also growing concern that attacks on oil and gas industry facilities in the Middle East could further increase the prices of crude oil, gasoline and diesel.
According to information from the Gulf state, Qatar’s liquefied natural gas facilities, which are important for the world market, were badly damaged in an Iranian missile attack. Early on Thursday morning, several liquefied natural gas plants were attacked in the Ras Laffan industrial area, resulting in “significant fires and further serious damage,” operator Qatar Energy announced on Platform X.
According to Iranian state television, an Israeli attack had previously hit several facilities in the special energy economic zone in the port city of Asalujeh on the Persian Gulf on Wednesday, resulting in a fire. The affected facilities belong to the South Pars/North Dome gas field, which Iran shares with the Gulf Emirate of Qatar, located on the opposite coast. With the gas produced from the largest field in the world, Iran covers around 70 percent of its domestic gas needs.
