The United States demands 50 percent of all raw material income in the country from Ukraine. Washington does not want to give security guarantees in return.

Negotiations between the United States and Ukraine on a raw material agreement are apparently just before their conclusion. As the “Financial Times” and the AFP news agency report on Ukrainian officials, Kiev has agreed to sign the agreement with Trump’s government.

The last draft of the agreement stipulates that Ukraine transfers half of all future income from rare earths, oil and gas to a fund that Donald Trump’s US government also has access. The fund should be detached from the income from raw material sales that are already flowing into the state budget. The agreement should also not contradict other international agreements in Ukraine – for example with the European Union.

At the same time, the fund should serve for reconstruction projects in Ukraine. The Agreement does not provide for security guarantees in the United States for Ukraine according to “Financial Times”. Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selenskyj had recently insisted on this. Details can still be clarified about the working method of the future fund.

According to the “Financial Times”, the Ukrainian Minister of Justice, Economy and Outer have now agreed to the agreement. Selenskyj will travel to Washington on Friday for a meeting with his US colleague Donald Trump, the Reuters news agency learned about two people familiar with the process on Tuesday. One of them said the US government proposed the visit.

Shortly afterwards, Trump himself said before the press that he heard that Selenskyj decided to make an agreement on Land treasures with him and to come to Washington on Friday. The last word about the raw material agreement will have the Ukrainian parliament.

“I heard that (Selenskyj) came by on Friday, of course it is okay for me if he wants to and he would like to sign with me (the contract),” said the US President in front of reporters in the Oval Office In his official residence in Washington, DC for the American people, this is a “very big deal”, because ex-President Joe Biden “has thrown out money as if it were cotton candy”.

  • Rare earths: Putin makes Trump an immoral offer

Kyiv had rejected the original draft of the agreement. He stipulated that Ukraine will pay the United States $ 500 billion from raw material income. Washington had justified the claim with previously granted military and financial aid for Ukraine. According to the recent information from the US Department of Defense, these aids amounted to not even $ 130 billion.

The agreement is considered important for Ukraine to secure Trump’s support in the war against Russia. According to earlier information, the negotiations about mineral resources such as rare earths were recently negotiated. Trump had requested the agreement to compensate for the United States supported so far. According to insiders, the government in Washington had brought the Starlink satellite internet system from Elon Musk to talk if there is no agreement. Starlink is part of SpaceX, one of the corporations of the Tesla boss and Trump consultant Musk. It is considered important for the Ukrainian military.

Putin’s Russia also offered the USA raw material agreements

The “Financial Times” quoted Ukrainian officials with the words that the agreement now made was initially a framework agreement. No money would be transferred to the United States until the raw material fund had been set up. A push from Russia also caused confusion the day before.

On Monday, Kremlin chief Putin offered the United States together a joint development of occurrence of rare earths in the Russian parts of Ukraine. “We are ready to work together with our partners, including the US,” said the head of state in an interview with state television to a possible raw material agreement with the United States.

Russia have some of the world’s largest deposits in the far north of the country, but also in the Caucasus, in Siberia, in the Far East and the occupied areas of Ukraine known as “new territories”, said Putin. Previously, he had discussed the further development of raw material removal with ministers and other representatives of the government in a video conference.
