A summit of arrogance – Donald Trump and JD Vance simply put Wolodymyr Selenskyj outside the door. What a bottomless shame.
Everything looked like a dignified reception for the Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selenskyj. Even the honor guard marched on the north side of the White House. Soldiers wore standard and the two national flags of the United States and Ukraine.
But when Donald Trump welcomed the Ukrainian president in front of the White House, he first made fun of his outfit. “They cleaned up again today,” commented the US President, the sweater that Selenskyj has been wearing since the war on official occasions instead of an arrival.

In truth, Selenskyj had just tried to make it clear that a ceasefire with Putin was not so easy to trust. He referred to Emmanuel Macron and Angela Merkel and the former Minsk agreements. Then he asked JD Vance what kind of diplomacy he would talk about.
That was the moment when the Vice President was no longer under control and became loud for no reason. Trump also intervened and roared Selenskyj that he was not in a good position. “They play with the Third World War.” It looked like interrogation. Vance pushed Selenskyj to thank you. He accused him of having made an election campaign for the opposition. Both the president and vice ignored the fact that Selenskyj had thanked publicly many times in recent years.
And then: throw out! Actually there should have been a work dinner and a longer press conference. While the Ukrainian president was in the White House, Trump published a contribution on his own network “Truth Social”: Selenskyj could come back if he was ready for peace. Trump once again claimed: Selenskyj had treated the USA and the Oval Office disrespectfully.
Then the sedan drove up for the Ukrainian and stood at the door, like a taxi that has to wait too long. Where Trump had just received him, he didn’t even accompany Selenskyj to the door. Instead, a woman did this from the protocol.
The completely wrong film is running in Washington today. Because not Selenskyj, but Putin plays with a Third World War. Not Selenskyj, whom Trump insulted several times as a dictator, started this murderous war, but Putin.
It is not the Ukrainian president who behaved disrespectfully towards the United States and its famous Oval Office. First of all, it was the American Vice President JD Vance and President Donald Trump, who not only treated Selenskyj unworthy, but also damaged their own office and reputation. What happened in Washington today is like a historical shame in America’s often so glorious history.
Wolodymyr Selenskyj is a real war hero. Even Donald Trump praised the courage of the Ukrainian troops at the beginning of the conversation. The American President and the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces never served. He doesn’t know what war really means.
