There was a density of sellers in the second-hand car market held on Saturdays in Samsun Second Hand Automotive Dealers Site this week. While many vehicles were put up for sale, the expected purchase could not be achieved due to the low number of buyers. While some sellers stated that the market would revive in April and May, others cited the shift in investment preferences to gold among the reasons for the stagnation.

Gallery owner Halit Kalem stated that they expect activity towards the summer months with the approach of the holiday period and said, “There is no serious movement in the market at the moment. People have directed their investments to gold. We think that it may take time to return to automobiles due to the horizontal course of gold prices. Currently, there are many sellers in the market, but the buyer side is undecided.”
Sadık Keskin, who came to the market to sell his vehicle, complained about the low number of buyers. Keskin stated that there are many vehicles in the market, but those who come are mostly just inspecting.

Selami Koca, who put his car up for sale, stated that the interest did not turn into sales and said, “People come, look, but the purchase does not happen. Since there are no buyers, the market remains stagnant.”

Engin Arıcan, who came to the market, stated that the main activity in the second-hand market was experienced in the spring months, and although there was some liveliness compared to last week, he said that this was not reflected in sales. Arıcan added that there is money in the market, but there is hesitation in purchasing.
