The US President is unlikely to be happy about this appearance

For the first time since the Iran War began almost six weeks ago, the Epstein case is back in the headlines. The US President declared the Epstein debate over two months ago. It was “really time for the country to move on to other things,” Trump demanded at the beginning of February. He himself ensured that this happened at first, because the American-Israeli attacks on Iran began soon afterwards.

Now the matter, which was extremely unpleasant for the Republican, is back on the agenda. Not only did Melania speak on her own behalf on Thursday, she also called for the victims of Epstein’s crimes to be heard before the US Congress and for their statements to be recorded: “Every woman should have the opportunity to tell her story publicly if she wants to,” said the First Lady. “Then, and only then, will we know the truth,” said Melania Trump.

However, representatives of the Epstein victims were outraged by the appearance in the White House. They accused Melania Trump of exploiting the victims for her political purposes. The burden would be shifted to the survivors of Epstein’s crimes “to protect those in power,” they told HuffPost.

The top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, Robert Garcia, nevertheless called for a hearing for the victims “immediately.” The committee heard former President Bill Clinton and his wife Hillary in the Epstein case at the end of February, after President Trump accused Clinton, a Democrat, of having had much more to do with Epstein than himself. In June, Microsoft founder Bill Gates was summoned. Gates and Bill Clinton appeared in the recently published Epstein files, but they could not be proven to be involved in the scandal.

Epstein had numerous prominent acquaintances, including the British Prince Andrew and Donald Trump. The US President had described the Epstein scandal as a “deceptive maneuver” by the Democrats and repeatedly called for people to remain silent about it. But Congress then almost unanimously forced the release of the files. Because of the numerous blacked out passages, there are allegations that the extent of the crime is being covered up and the real perpetrators are being protected.
