BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul started the day with a 0.02 percent decrease at 10,989.16 points.
At the opening, BIST 100 index decreased by 2.41 points and 0.02 percent compared to the previous close, falling to 11,089.16 points.
The banking index lost 0.34 percent and the holding index lost 0.06 percent. Among the sector indices, the biggest gainer was stone and soil with 0.69 percent, while the biggest loser was securities investment trust with 0.94 percent.
BIST 100 index, which was in a downward trend yesterday, closed the day at 10,991.57 points, decreasing by 0.88 percent compared to the previous close.
Analysts stated that global stock markets are following a negative trend as the selling pressure that started in the US led by technology stocks deepens, and that the growth data to be announced in the US today has become the focus of investors.
Analysts stated that the financial results of major technology companies that failed to meet expectations during the busy balance sheet season continue to affect investor decisions, and that it is considered certain that the US Federal Reserve (Fed) will leave the policy rate unchanged for the last time next week as part of the fight against inflation.
However, pricing that the Bank will make three interest rate cuts by the end of the year continues to strengthen day by day. According to pricing in money markets, there is a 55 percent probability that the policy rate will be in the range of 4.50-4.75 percent and a 36 percent probability that it will be in the range of 4.75-5.00 at the end of the year.
Analysts stated that today, intensive data agenda will be followed, especially the capacity utilization rate in the country and growth in the USA abroad, and noted that technically, 10,900 and 10,750 points are support and 11,000 points are resistance in the BIST 100 index.
