BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul gained 1.41 percent in the first half of the day and rose to 12,443.35 points.

BIST 100 index, which moved in an upward trend in the first half of the day, rose to 12,443.35 points as of 13:00, an increase of 173.17 points and 1.41 percent compared to the previous closing.

The total transaction volume was 68.2 billion lira. The banking index gained 3.26 percent and the holding index gained 1.07 percent.

Among the sector indices, the biggest gainer was banking, and the biggest loser was financial leasing factoring with 6.64 percent.

While expectations that the US Federal Reserve (Fed) will pause interest rate hikes in October support purchases in global markets, a mixed course is observed in the Eurozone as concerns about France’s public finances put pressure on the euro and French assets.

Domestically, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index remains positive, led by banking stocks.

According to Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 1.84 percent on a monthly basis and 29.73 percent on an annual basis in September.

While monthly inflation remained below the 2.18 percent expectation in the AA Finance Inflation Expectation Survey, annual inflation fell below 30 percent for the first time since November 2021.

Analysts stated that the US service sector Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) data will be followed for the rest of the day, and noted that technically, 12,500 and 12,600 points in the BIST 100 index are resistance, and 12,200 and 12,100 points are support.
