This structure is the first planet with the first polar orbit discovered around a bilateral system.
The system, called “2m1510, also contains a brown dwarf duo with only a pre -transit, which is only observed for the second time.
“Finding a planet who revolves around a bilateral system and the brown dwarf pair, and moreover, is extremely impressive and exciting to find a planet with a polar orbit”.
They are known as ‘unsuccessful stars’
Brown dwarfs are located in the intermediate mass between planets and stars. These celestial bodies, which reach approximately 13 Jupiter mass, have enough masses in their seeds, but are not large enough to initiate classical hydrogen fusion.
For this reason, although they are sometimes called “unsuccessful stars ,, they actually represent one of the extremes of star evolution.
With these features, brown dwarfs provide significant clues to scientists to understand how stars and planets are formed.
An unexpected discovery
The discovery was coincidentally by the team led by Thomas Baycroft of the University of Birmingham. Researchers noticed an unexplained play in the mass center of the system in the light data they received to examine the physical and orbital features of the brown dwarfs in the 2m1510 system.
Stars can also be affected by the gravitational of the more smaller objects than they do. This leads to slightly “swing” of the star and small changes in the wavelength of the spread of the spread. The team revealed an extraordinary result in investigating the reason for this playing: the data could only be explained by the wandering of an othergen in a polar orbit.
35 times the masses of Jupıter
According to observations, the brown dwarfs called 2m1510 A and 2m1510 B have about 35 times the mass of Jupiter. They return to each other in a very close orbit, and this return takes 20.9 days. Far from the system, there is a third brown dwarf called 2m1510 C. Located 250 times the distance between the Sun and the Earth, this third dwarf will not be responsible for the release at the center of the system.
The orbit is uncertain, the discovery is exciting
The orbit and mass of the other is called -2m1510 (EU) B. The estimates show that its orbit can last 100 to a few thousand days, while its mass is between 10 and 1000 world mass. The most likely range is around a few hundred world masses.
The team plans to observe the system in more detail to eliminate uncertainties. However, although the data was not clear, the discovery itself aroused great excitement for the world of astronomy.
Tria This discovery was completely coincidental. Our aim was not to find such a planet or orbit structure. So it was a great surprise.
