According to the results of the February 2025, the results of this study conducted every month in order to reveal the livelihood conditions of the employees by the Türk-İş Confederation and to determine the reflections of the price change in the basic needs on the family budget;
The monthly food expenditure amount (hunger limit) to be done in order to ensure that a family of four living in Ankara can be healthy, balanced and adequate nutrition for 23.323,86 TL
Food expenditure and clothing, housing (rent, electricity, water, fuel), transportation, education, health and similar needs to be made for the total amount of other monthly expenditures (poverty limit) to 75.973,49 TL. A single employee ‘cost of life’ also rose to 30.206.24 TL per month.
The livelihood conditions of narrow and fixed income segments continue to deteriorate. The purchasing power of the employees declines day by day, and therefore employees have to save even food expenditures. The amount of expenditure of a family of four for food is above the net minimum wage. In our country, it is not possible for most wage employees to be able to lead a life that is worthy of human dignity. The difference between compulsory expenditure for wage employees and retirees that make up the majority of the society and the income obtained should be eliminated and the conditions of livelihood should be improved.
According to the data of Türk-İş, the change in “Kitchen Inflation” data was as follows as of February 2025:
The increase in the minimum expenditure of a family of four people living in Ankara should be 5.39 percent compared to the previous month. The twelve -month change rate was 43.47 percent. The annual average increase was 57.73 percent.
