The European Union (EU) Commission President Ursula von Der Leyen spoke at the international summit on the support of Ukraine in Kiev due to the 3rd anniversary of the Russian-Ukraine War. Von Der Leyen stated that Europe believes in a free and sovereign Ukraine and said, “The war in Ukraine continues to be the most central and important crisis for the future of Europe,” he said.
Von der leyen pointed out that not only Ukraine but also the fate of Europe is in danger, so his priorities were to strengthen the resistance of Ukraine. Von Der Leyen emphasized that the EU and member states have provided 134 billion euros to Ukraine so far and claimed that this amount was more than all other countries. Ukrainian fund and G7 loan thanks to Ukraine’s 2025 budget deficit underlining Von Der Leyen, “Weapons and ammunition delivery urgently accelerate,” he said.
Von Der Leyen said that the EU will continue to support Ukraine and said, “Europe is here to support Ukraine at this critical moment. I can announce to Ukraine that a new payment of 3.5 billion euros will be made in March ”.
