Türkiye automotive sector, in the first four months of the year, 12 billion 635 million 489 thousand dollars by exporting by exporting the highest January-April period of all time reached the record.
According to the data of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), Türkiye’s total exports in the January-April period of 2025 increased by 3.9 percent compared to the same period last year and increased to 86 billion 246 million 733 thousand dollars. In April, exports increased by 8.5 percent and became 20.9 billion dollars.
The automotive sector exhibited the highest January-April performance in its history with exports of 12 billion 635 million 489 thousand dollars in this period. The exports of the sector increased by 6.5 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, while its share in total exports was calculated as 14.7 percent.
Most exports to Germany
Germany was the largest market in Türkiye’s automotive exports. Automotive exports to Germany ranks first with $ 2 billion, while this country was followed by France with 1.5 billion dollars, the United Kingdom with 1.3 billion dollars, Spain with 1 billion 89 million dollars and Italy with 1 billion 23 million dollars.
Germany also became the leader in the increase in exports on a value basis. During this period, automotive exports to Germany increased by $ 390.1 million. In the export increase, Germany was followed by Spain with 357.3 million dollars, Slovenia with 220.8 million dollars, Romania with 129.9 million dollars and France with 83.6 million dollars.
Exports to Slovenia was 685.6 million dollars and 461.4 million dollars to Romania.
Most Exports Province: Kocaeli
On the basis of the province, Kocaeli was the most automotive exports during the January-April period. While automotive exports of 3.9 billion dollars from Kocaeli, Istanbul made an export of 2 billion 750 million dollars, Bursa 2 billion 716 million dollars, Sakarya 1.3 billion dollars and Ankara 491.2 million dollars.
Record in a row in the last 3 years
The automotive sector of Türkiye has been breaking records in exports for the last three years as of its January-April periods. The sector, which exports $ 11.9 billion in the same period of 2024, exported 11.3 billion dollars in 2023 and 10 billion 187 million dollars in 2022.
In 2021, when the effects of the pandemi period were felt, exports were recorded as 10 billion 153 million dollars and $ 7.6 billion in 2020. In 2019, exports of $ 10.4 billion were made.
The automotive sector has achieved a strong performance in exports this year by turning the demand for demand in global markets and the US tax stretching policy implemented in automobile imports.
