A radar disorder paralyzes air traffic over London. Several airports are affected, passengers have to wait hours.

There are currently significant delays in air traffic around the British capital London. The reason for this is “technical problems”, which could be remedied, as the NATs air safety service announced. The airports Gatwick, Stansted, Heathrow, Luton, Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester and Edinburgh are affected.

According to the British air traffic control, NATS has come to a disturbance in the Swanwick control center. “We limit the number of aircraft in the London control room to ensure security,” explains a spokesman. Passengers reported that machines are determined on runways.

According to NATs, the affected system has been restored since the early evening. You work to resume normal operation. Nevertheless, delays can continue to be expected. According to EuroControl, the cause is “radar problems”.
