When asked by T-Online, whether he would regret something about his previous or later version, says Nicholas Decker: “No”. His essay comes at a time in the USA when a single incident could lead to a kind of explosion. In view of the many radical Trump arrangements, many Americans are unsettled, frightened and angry. The concern for democracy does not only alert constitutional experts.
In the meantime, it is even shared to the right conservative camp. For example, the well-known podcast moderator and Trump supporter Joe Rogan distanced himself from the current processes. “We have to be careful not to become monsters while we are fighting against monsters,” he said in his recent episode. Rogan outlined how consequently the accusation made by the government could end up “you are a gang member” without legal proceedings. Nobody then has to prove a guilt and nobody can then prove their innocence.
However, Nicholas Decker has massively applied the most loyal and radical Trump supporters against himself. Since he published his text, he has received massive threats. The doctoral student regularly publishes provocative texts. They are also visible to the public, strongly opinion and are now being knocked on all right. These include a contribution in which he describes it as a moral duty to specifically marry migrants in order to enable them to stay in the United States’ legal stay. For the right, Decker is “Woke” and left -wing radical. On T-online demand, where he would classify himself in the political spectrum, he apparently replies half-ironic: “autistic”. In the self -description of his blog, on the other hand, it can be read: “Pragmatic liberal”.
Despite the threats of murder, he did not switch on the authorities, he says to T-Online. “I don’t care,” said Decker. While the shitstorm raged against him on the Internet, he even announced publicly where exactly in the house he would be. He accepts his hunt against himself – and obviously also the consequences:
Because of the many attention and threats, his landlord has now terminated the room in Virginia. Decker then briefly started a call for donations in order to be able to finance a new place to stay. After all, around $ 4,000 came together. According to his own statements, he then donated the money to a non -profit organization called Givewell.
Nicholas Decker is currently in the capital Washington. On the phone he says that he is very busy and therefore currently has no time for a meeting. He takes time to write. In another post on platform X, which should be directed against Donald Trump, he recently wrote: “Isn’t it crazy that Hitler was put into prison for nine months after his coup attempt and then simply released again? Thank God we would not repeat this error!”
