Trade Minister Omer Bolat, manipulative price increases in order to prevent the negativities in the market will continue, said: “In the month of Ramadan, intensifying our inspection work, we are trying to spend this blessed month in the most beautiful way.” he said.

In order to prevent citizens’ grievances, to maintain a fair competitive environment in the market and to prevent irregular practices such as exorbitant price and stocking, the market surveillance and audit activities of the Ministry of Commerce continue.

Accordingly, since January, approximately 11 thousand enterprises and more than 152 thousand products throughout the country have been inspected within the scope of unfair price increase and stocking.

In the inspections in question, especially in the Ramadan tables of consumers, flour, bread, oil, milk and dairy products, eggs, red and white meat, pulses, such as basic foodstuffs such as controls were given.

In addition, all kinds of cleanser, detergent, soap, shampoo, toothpaste, such as cleaning and hygiene materials and personal care products were examined.

Administrative sanctions will be applied against all manipulative initiatives

A short time before the month of Ramadan, the inspections will continue to increase. Administrative sanctions will be imposed against all initiatives that manipulate the market order in transportation to basic food and needs.

In this context, studies on the determination of exorbitant price and stocking applications are continuing.

The unfair price evaluation committee will implement the necessary administrative sanctions against the contradictions to be determined with the aim of protecting consumer rights and providing fair competition in the market.

In this context, the exorbitant price of 143 thousand 930 pounds to 1 million 439 thousand 300 pounds, for the initiatives of stocking 1 million 439 thousand 300 pounds to 17 million 271 thousand 600 pounds can be given.

Unfair Price Increase with the State Complaint System (HFA) may notify through the mobile application or by applying directly to our Ministry or Trade Provincial Directorates.
