BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul started the week with a decrease of 0.30 percent at 9,747.67 points.
At the opening, BIST 100 index decreased to 9,747.67 points, with a decrease of 29.79 points and 0.30 percent compared to the previous closing.
The banking index lost 0.43 percent and the holding index lost 0.37 percent. Among the sector indices, sports was the one that gained the most with 1.07 percent, and communication was the one that lost the most with 0.68 percent.
On Friday, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index, which followed a sales-oriented trend, finished the day at 9,777.46 points, losing 0.53 percent of its value.
Global markets started the week cautiously, which will be followed by a busy macroeconomic data calendar, especially the US employment report.
Although there are still question marks about whether the fight against inflation will result in a recession around the world and concerns raised by the conflicts in the Middle East, recently announced macroeconomic data helps to keep the concerns limited in the markets.
Today, analysts are looking for the Services Producer Price Index (H-PPI) and monthly money and bank statistics in the country, inflation in Germany and the Dallas Fed manufacturing industry index in the USA, as well as US Federal Reserve (Fed) Chairman Jerome Powell’s announcement. and European Central Bank (ECB) President Christine Lagarde will be followed, and noted that 9,700 and 9,600 points in the BIST 100 index are support, and 10,050 and 10,200 levels are resistance.
