BIST 100 index on Borsa Istanbul started the day with a 0.16 percent decrease at 9,966.57 points.
At the opening, BIST 100 index decreased by 15.72 points and 0.16 percent compared to the previous close, falling to 9,966.57 points.
The banking index lost 0.19 percent and the holding index lost 0.22 percent. Among the sector indexes, the textile index gained the most with 0.31 percent, while the securities investment trust index lost the most with 1.16 percent.
BIST 100 index, which was in a downward trend yesterday, closed the day at 9,982.28 points, down 0.72 percent compared to the previous close.
Global markets are on a negative track as investors remain cautious ahead of the messages to be given by US Federal Reserve (Fed) Chairman Jerome Powell at the Jackson Hole Economic Policy Symposium starting tomorrow.
Analysts stated that the data agenda is calm in the country today, and that the Fed’s meeting minutes in the US will be followed abroad, and noted that from a technical perspective, 9,900 and 9,750 points are support in the BIST 100 index, while 10,000 and 10,100 are resistance levels.
